Gamuli makes puzzle games. This policy covers our app Thin Ice and this website.
In Brief
Thin Ice has no accounts, no sign-in and no profile. We never learn your name, your email address or who you are.
It does send us some information about how the game is played, and it shows adverts. Both are handled by Google, and both are described in full below. Simply put: we collect what the game does, not who does it.
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and makes no third-party requests. There is nothing for you to consent to.
What the app stores on your device
A few things that never leave your phone. Thin Ice keeps these using the ordinary storage Android gives every app:

None of it identifies you. Uninstalling the app removes it all.
What the app sends us
Thin Ice sends some information to Google, using a service called Google Analytics for Firebase, who handle it for us. It covers two things: how the game is played, and a few details about your device.
- How the game is played. Which levels you start, finish or give up on, how long they took and how they ended. We mostly want to know where people give up, because that is how we find out a board is unfair.
- Your device and roughly where you are. Model, Android version, and a country worked out from your IP address. Not your device's location, which we never ask for.
It is tied to a random identifier for your installation of the app and to your device's advertising ID, the resettable one described under Adverts below. We never learn who you are, because there is nothing to learn it from. Reinstalling gives you a new installation identifier, and Android lets you clear either whenever you like.
Adverts
Thin Ice shows adverts supplied by Google, in two places:
- By choice. When you run out of time, you can watch a short video to get some of the clock back and carry on.
- Between levels. A full-screen advert appears after you've completed some levels. Never more than a few times in one sitting.
To do this, Google reads your device's advertising ID, a resettable identifier Android provides for exactly this purpose, and may use it to choose which adverts to show and to measure whether they worked. It also receives your device type, your approximate location and your interaction with the advert.
This is the one place where information about you is shared with a third party for their own purposes rather than simply processed for ours.
Your choices
Advertising consent. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the game asks whether you agree to personalised advertising before showing you any. You can change that answer at any time from the game's Settings screen. Saying no does not remove the adverts. It makes them non-personalised.
Analytics follows your answer. Where the law requires consent, the game asks before collecting anything and collects only what you agree to.
Your advertising ID. Android lets you reset it, or delete it entirely, under Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising across every app on the phone, not just ours.
Everything at once. Uninstalling the app stops all of it and removes everything stored on the device.
Who sees it, and for how long
Google processes all of this: on our behalf for the game itself, and for its own purposes where advertising is concerned. Google's handling is covered by Google's privacy policy and, for adverts specifically, by how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services. The analytics service is Google Analytics for Firebase.
We do not sell anything about you, and we share nothing with anybody else. There is no other company involved.
Analytics events are kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Why we are allowed to do this
We are based in the United Kingdom, so UK GDPR applies. Our lawful bases are:

Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to it being processed, and to complain to the regulator.
In practice, the honest answer to "what do you hold about me" is that we cannot find you: everything above is tied to a random installation identifier and nothing to your name, your email or your account, because there is no account. If you write to us with that identifier, which Settings will show you, we can locate and delete the data associated with it. If you would rather not, uninstalling ends the collection and Android's own controls let you clear the identifier.
If you think we have got this wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Thin Ice is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. It carries advertising and sends the analytics described above, which is why it is not presented as a children's app.
If you believe a child has been using it and you would like the data for that installation removed, write to us and we will do it.
Changes
If a future version collects something new, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
